We are excited to announce an upcoming workshop on “Future Developments in Altmetrics” that aims to break new ground in Altmetrics. The workshop will encourage discussion from academic and working experts, which promises to be an enriching experience for professionals and researchers alike. Research Assessment systems are on the rise. New advances in Assessment indicators have enabled the creation of ever more competent evaluation systems that have the potential to contribute to various types of measures. However, this potential to result in a step-change in the deployment of Altmetrics with an acceptable level of reliability is warranted. Many studies comparing Altmetrics findings with other research assessment measures reported conflicting results.Researchers and institutions must unite to transform the unique insights and innovations developed in Altmetrics from lab prototypes into robust and reliable real-life solutions for institutions. In this workshop, we create a platform structured around three specific themes: (1) the Reliability of Altmetrics indicators, (2) Scope and application perspectives, and (3) Limitations and improvements.

 

We encourage researchers to address any issue related to Altmetrics and present their findings.
